Antonio Piacquadio is a native of the world. Born in New York City, he was introduced to the groovy, forward-thinking electronic music when the city was still a center for innovation and large-scale performance and insomnia.
A resident at legendary halls such as The Palladium, Tunnel, Limelight, Mirage, The Roxy, Exit, and the storied Sound Factory, Antonio was hailed as a dynamic force in the NYC evolution of tech-house whose continued innovation and passion for the music propels him ever forward. Spinning vinyl in New York’s largest electronic music venues since the early 90’s, Antonio’s Italian heritage informed his gracious hospitality, feeding spoonfuls of music to his nightlife family. Antonio embraces the electronic music community as his own brothers and sisters.
With a strict “sound comes first” rule, the party then comes to life. Antonio’s talents have been on display at Miami’s Winter Music Conference for over a decade, the BPM Music Festival in Playa Del Carmen Mexico since its inception in 2008, the Kazantip Festival on Ukraine’s Black Sea and the Ohm Festival on the island of Hvar in Croatia. From Ibiza Global Radio, his tunes reach even the sky and stars.
It was 2008 when Ibiza, the authority of the electronic dance music scene of the world came calling with his first island debut at Amnesia. But it was Sankeys inside the capital of that world that made Antonio an offer a DJ cannot refuse. To be forever in the epicenter of it all, spinning on and on.
Enter TekSupport. Like everything else they do, TekSupport is a family affair, co-created by Antonio and guided by his brothers, monsters of New York City, Paulie G and Rob T. TekSupport unites breaking artists coming with a young blooded new generation with the traditional heroes and old school loyalists. Re-mixing up-coming music environments with the established party scenes, TekSupport promotes the technical skill of dance music.
Inmotion Music, a label co-owned by Antonio, was born in Brooklyn, NY – a testament to the grass-roots, do it yourself aesthetic that first sparked EDM. Inmotion’s plan – to re-ignite that fire. A label equally versed in digital music as well as the traditional vinyl format, Inmotion Music exhibits only the most fiercely ground-breaking and genre-defying House and Techno musicians, both undiscovered, radical new artists to the established greats.
Today, Antonio is honored to play alongside and to have his music played by those same greats. Sharing the stage with Dubfire, Davide Squillace, Erick Morillo, Steve Lawler, Mauro Picotto, and Mr. Marco Carola among many others in countries across the globe. His records have been remixed by countless artists including but not limited to Butch, Timid Boy, Nicole Moudaber, Radio Slave and Sergio Fernandez. Inspired by these masters, he gets energized by Danny Tenaglia, Todd Terry, Richie Hawtin and, most powerfully, Carl Cox but anyone who hears his music can tell the infectious influence of multiple other sources, including New York’s early hip-hop and freestyle scene, rock and roll, classical Italian ballads and, of course, Michael Jackson. His music feeds the scene. His parties are never just club nights, they are global experiences.
